About Dentoscore
Dentoscore is an independent online revision app for the UK Overseas Registration Exam (ORE) Part 1, with original practice questions, timed mock papers and flashcards, each answer explained with its source named.
Dentoscore started at a kitchen table, built for one overseas-trained dentist facing a stack of UK guidance that never seemed to end. Practice questions showed which option was right, but rarely why. And without the why, the answer didn’t stick.
So we set out to build a revision tool that explains itself.
We started with UK guidance
Most dentistry is the same wherever you trained. What changes from country to country is the guidance: how the UK prescribes, takes consent, keeps records, protects patients and refers. So we started there. We wrote questions on UK guidance and law, and we tied every answer to the source it comes from.
How it grew from a question bank to a full ORE Part 1 revision app
The approach worked, so we kept going. First, we added core dental knowledge, written the same way. Then we built the tools around it:
- UK guidance crib sheetWhere UK practice differs from what you were taught, in one searchable sheet.
- Revision notesTopic by topic across the syllabus, for a quick recap before the exam.
- 30 in-depth study notesWorked cases and memory aids. Deep, but not so deep you drown.
- A study plannerSo the months before your exam have a clear shape, week by week.
- A results breakdownAfter every session, so you can see which topics need work.
- A clean, quiet screenNo ads and nothing pulling you away from revising.
Practise at the real ORE Part 1 pace
Knowing the answer is only half the job. In ORE Part 1, you have about 54 seconds a question, and you also need time at the end to go back to the ones you flagged. That’s why we added timed exam mode and six full mock papers that run at real exam pace.
How we check every answer
Every question names its source. Where UK guidance or law exists, we use it. Where it doesn’t, we use an Oxford Handbook page or settled UK teaching. 1,500+ answers link straight to their source, so you can check them yourself.
We have read through every question for its source, wording and format, and we have audited the questions, notes and crib sheet clinically more than once. Every question is our own, written from scratch. We never use recalled questions or past papers.
If you spot a mistake
We’re human, and guidance changes. So a question may sometimes miss a recent update or slip past our checks. If you find one, tell us. We would rather fix it than defend it, and every fix helps the next candidate.
✉ support@dentoscore.co.ukOne fair price, not a subscription
The ORE journey is expensive. On top of the application and exam fees, many candidates also pay for visas, flights and somewhere to stay. With that in mind, Dentoscore is one payment for six months, not a subscription.
